Great spectacular viewing spot of Mount Fuji and sunset

Enoshima Sea Candle observation lighthouse
A landmark of the Enoshima Island "Sea Candle" tower stands in this highest elevation area, also there is Samuel Cocking Garden that renovated to park the former villa site of British merchant Samuel Cocking.
Also a square with south-west faced view deck, called as Kamegaoka Square, is located in opposite to the road.

You can enjoy the great spectacular sea and mountain scenery both places.

The last distance to the mountaintop

Go up some stairs from Nakatsunomiya Shrine, finally the road becomes flat and spread your view. Here is the highest elevation place in Enoshima Island.
On weekend and holidays, licensed street performers will performing on the stage here.

Go left to Kamegaoka Square and view deck.
Go right to Samuel Cocking Garden and Sea Candle observation tower.

A square with grass and trees on your left is Kamegaoka Square that has nice view deck, some shop and restaurant facilities.

From the view deck, you can enjoy vast panoramic view of south and west Kanto region, such as Sagami Bay, mountains in Hakone or Izu peninsula or Tanzawa, and also Mt.Fuji.
Especially, sight of Sea Candle tower to show a variety of appearance in each season, time and weather. It is a must-see scenery here!

Illuminated Kamegaoka Square in winter night.Every night during December to first half of February, the square becomes a venue of Shonan no Hoseki winter illumination and decorated with full of lights.
In the beginning of February, Kawazu-zakura (a kind of cherry blooms earlier) trees are bloom the flowers. Here is the one of the earliest place that can see cherry blossoms near Tokyo. During the event period of Shonan no Hoseki winter illumination, you can enjoy illuminated cherry blossoms [夜桜(Yozakura)] at night.
Standard cherry blossoms can also be seen here at the beginning of April.

Samuel Cocking Garden and Sea Candle

Samuel Cocking Garden and Sea Candle entrance
Overlook of Sea Candle lighthouse.Samuel Cocking Garden [江の島サムエル・コッキング苑] was originally built as private villa site and botanical garden of British merchant Samuel Cocking in 1882 on the top of island.
Then, this 10,000 square meters garden has several large-scale renovation and become the current state.

It has botanical garden, ruins of greenhouse, some cafe and Soba(buckwheat noodle) restaurant.

A tower with observation terrace called as "Enoshima Sea Candle" also stands in the garden.

The garden is the main venue of some events such as summer, autumn and winter illumination and more.
