
A landmark of the Enoshima Island "Sea Candle" tower stands in
this highest elevation area, also there is Samuel Cocking Garden that renovated
to park the former villa site of British merchant Samuel Cocking.
Also a square with south-west faced view deck, called as Kamegaoka Square,
is located in opposite to the road.
You can enjoy the great spectacular sea and mountain scenery both places.
Samuel Cocking Garden [江の島サムエル・コッキング苑] was originally built as private villa site and botanical garden of British merchant Samuel Cocking in 1882 on the top of island.
Then, this 10,000 square meters garden has several large-scale renovation
and become the current state.
It has botanical garden, ruins of greenhouse, some cafe and Soba(buckwheat
noodle) restaurant.
A tower with observation terrace called as "
Enoshima Sea Candle" also stands in the garden.

Tropical plants, 250 kinds of camellia and the roses that was gifted from Windsor city in Canada have been planted in botanical garden area.
The special display of the flowers of the season is go on frequently neat
the entrance .
The number of trees planted at the construction days more than 100 years
ago is still continues being brought up in the garden.
There is a brickwork ruins of brick building greenhouse, which was built
at the time of the opening of the garden in 1882.
Inside of ruins is open to the public several times a year.

In the garden, there are some squares that was named sister cities of Fujisawa
in Japan and overseas, there is such as plants, monuments and buildings
related to each of the city.

Every night during the end of November to mid-February, the garden is decorated
in colorful and fantastic illuminations for
Shonan no Hoseki event.
This one of the award winning winter illumination event of Japan is very
popular and many people to visit here to see it especially on the weekend
and holidays.
Observation lighthouse "
Enoshima Sea Candle"[江の島シーキャンドル] tower, has about 120 meters height above sea level,
opened in 2003 (59.8 meters height from the ground level).
It is lit-up by seven colors of illumination to change by the season, which
performed every night from sunset until 22:00 (10:00 pm). It is also frequently
done special color light up by the event mainly in winter.
An elevator links between ground level and observation terrace. Elevator
will arrive at observation room. Of course, it is possible to see a nice
panoramic view.
However, it is too a shame that you return to see only here! Let's go to
the upper open-air observation terrace on outdoor stairs.
From the open-air observation terrace, you can enjoy the 360-degrees great
panoramic view!
Also it is possible to see buildings in Yokohama, also Tokyo Sky Tree tower
and Tokyo Tower at night. Try to find!

On top of the observation terrace, there is a lighthouse facility that
shines every 10 seconds.
This light reach to 46 kilometers away.
When you going back to the ground level, you can use the same elevator
or return by your feet!
If you open the door in observation room, there is a open-air spiral staircase
leading to the lower. More than 40 meters height to the ground, you can
go down to walk while feeling the wind. This will be unique experience
and memory of travel here!
(It is unable to walk this staircase when strong winds and bad weather.)
